The Tanzania Federation of Cooperatives (TFC) has successfully coordinated and conducted a Joint Working Session for Chairpersons and Vice Chairpersons of Regional Cooperative Platforms in Tanzania Mainland, held on October 1, 2026, at the Rafiki Hotel Hall in Dodoma City.

The Tanzania Federation of Cooperatives (TFC) has successfully coordinated and conducted a Joint Working Session for Chairpersons and Vice Chairpersons of Regional Cooperative Platforms in Tanzania Mainland, held on October 1, 2026, at the Rafiki Hotel Hall in Dodoma City.

This meeting brought together these leaders along with Coordinators and Representatives from TFC, TCDC, MoCU, and COASCO.

During the opening of the session, the Executive Director of TFC, Mr. Fares Muganda, emphasized that Regional Cooperative Platforms were established as a vital tool and bridge to strengthen cooperation, communication, coordination, and stakeholder engagement within the cooperative sector at the regional level. He added that the success of these platforms will depend on genuine participation, openness in providing feedback, and a readiness to learn from the experiences of other regions to enhance the contribution of cooperatives in building an inclusive, competitive, and sustainable economy.

Key Matters Discussed and Evaluated:
• ​Implementation Evaluation: Conducting an in-depth review of the execution of activities and the achievements of the platforms since their inception.
• ​Guideline Improvement: Receiving feedback for the enhancement of the Guidelines for the Management and Operation of Regional Cooperative Platforms.
• ​Cooperation and Strategies: Discussing the responsibilities of each stakeholder, sustainability, stakeholder involvement, and the operation of the Cooperative Women's Platform.
• ​Future Direction: Laying a solid foundation and preparing the platforms' work calendar for the year 2027 and coming years.

TFC pledges to continue collaborating with all stakeholders to ensure that these platforms serve as a robust instrument for cooperative development in the country!
